The discovery model from the legendary LR brand is a sports car offered in various versions like base S, SE and the top line versions. The discovery sports model has the capacity to accommodate up to 7-passengers. The S E and the HSE models are featured with dual sunroofs and leather and wood interior trim.
Engine
The power to this Discovery vehicle comes from the 4.6 liter V8 engine that produces power up to 217 hp and the only available transmission to the vehicle is a four-speed automatic. Standard on the model is traction control and low range gearing.
The other features in the Discovery model that are provided as standard include driver activated differential, active concerning enhancement, self levelling suspension, antilock brakes system, and rear obstacle detection. The competitor models to the sports car include Infiniti QX4, Ford Explorer, Mercedes Benz M-Class, Lexus RX 300 and the Acura MDX.
The new version of Discovery model is expected to hit the car market by the end of 2010 and will be available in show rooms from October. The future model comes with refreshed exterior, new engine, revised suspension and chassis, and luxurious interior.
