These are sports luxury cars from the house of LR. It is one of the top selling sports luxury cars in the world. The current generation model is offered in two versions, namely the base HSE and Supercharged version. Both the vehicles are powered by a standard V8 engine.
Engine
The V8, naturally aspirated engine in the base RR models produce power up to 305 bhp at an angular speed of 5750 rpm and torque of 325 lb ft at an angular speed of 4000 rpm. The same supercharged engine can produce power up to 400 bhp at an angular speed of 5750 rpm and torque of 420 lb ft at an angular speed of 3500 rpm.
Performance
The naturally aspirated V8 engine has aluminum alloy cylinder blocks and heads with variable camshaft phasing, four valves per cylinder and valvetrain chain driven double overhead camshafts.
With the naturally aspirated V8 engine equipped, the RR models can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a time span of just 8.3 seconds. The fuel economy achieved by the engine is 12 miles per gallon in the city premises, while it can achieve 18 miles per gallon on the highway roads. The maximum speed gained by the vehicle is 195 kilo meters per hour.
