These models were released in various generations, each model included with certain added features. These models commonly known as series Land Rover models are the off road vehicles.
The first series was introduced in the model year 1948 and the production of the models continued till 1958. The models produced as first series were the two-door off road vehicle powered by a standard 1.6 liter I4 engine and the engine was mated to a standard four-speed manual transmission. It was also offered as four door off road vehicle and two-door pickup car. The other engines to the vehicle include 2.0 liter I4 and the same capacity diesel engine.
The second series models came with few added features in 1958 and this model was also offered in all the previous versions like off road vehicle, and pickup truck. The engine to this generation models include a 2.25 liter petrol I4 engine and also offered 2.0 liter I4 diesel engine as optional.
The third series model was released in 1971. In these series vehicles the body and the engine were same as that of the second series vehicles, but were equipped with few updates.
